In the interview , Jay-Z ( who could actually be he only guy wearing a Billionaire Boys Club jumper that actually lives up to the brand name) talks about how the idea for his involvement on The Great Gatsby soundtrack actually came about.
Jay says he was at the The Mercer Hotel, and then talking about the art of collaborating in music (at the time working with Kanye on Watch The Throne), the idea of putting this soundtrack together emerged.
He went on to note that the end result for the film wasn't a typical soundtrack, he instead made an effort to insure that the songs made sense to the film in context of there respective scenes, instead of being an "afterthought."
